Join the team – Walk with Them

Open Doors is supported by a team of over 600 volunteers throughout the UK and Ireland, each one finding their own way to walk alongside and serve our persecuted brothers and sisters. From stuffing envelopes to speaking in churches, helping at events or motivating others, could you do something to help raise awareness and support for the persecuted church?

Whether you can spare two hours a month, a week of your holiday or even two days a week, we have a wide range of activities to release your gifting and time to help walk with those suffering for their faith in Jesus.

Why volunteer?

The family of God runs deeper than biology, geography or nationality. This is a family without boundaries or borders.

Volunteering with Open Doors is not about giving up your time for a good cause but standing in prayer and action with our persecuted brothers and sisters. If your brother, sister, parent or child was experiencing severe hardship for being a Christian, what would you do? Would you encourage others to pray, to write letters, to speak out, to unite as family?

By volunteering with Open Doors, you will be helping us to raise awareness of the persecuted church and inspiring others to meet their persecuted family and walk with them in their challenges and blessings. We hope not only to strengthen those we serve, but by doing so to learn to live out our faith, in every situation, each day.

"After being confronted by the persecution of believers in a talk given by an Open Doors Representative for our area five years ago, I was unable to put it out of my head. I realised the Lord Jesus was wanting me to make others aware of this and that is how I became a Church Representative."
